Pet Scribbles owner and designer Laura Kuhlmann was interviewed for the Business Savvy article titled, Inventory Basics? Cards and stationery can help boost profits.  The article, which appears on page 15, suggests that retailers not look at greeting cards as impulse items, but rather as an important part of the overall merchandise that can contribute to a store's bottom line.  

"Retailers need to have the mindset that cards are as important as any other item they stock," says Laura Kuhlmann, Owner of Pet Scribbles.  "Sticking cards here and there in other displays in-store will help people see different uses for the cards," Kuhlmann says. 

"Merchandise that makes people stop to look, touch and feel is important," says Carol Will, owner of Lola and Penelope's in Clayton, Mo.  

To illustrate the points made by Kuhlmann and Will, the article includes a picture (above right) of an inviting merchandise display for a new puppy.  The display is from Lola and Penelope's, an upscale pet boutique located in Clayton, Missouri, and includes the Pet Scribbles card "Congratulations on your new puppy!" -- Item PS-070.
