About Me
Pet Scribbles is a unique line of pet-centric handcrafted greeting cards. A vintage feel with a modern twist, these cards are made to order, not mass-produced, in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey.
But who am I? According to my Twitter bio:
Owner/Designer of Pet Scribbles Greeting Cards and Purrtea Cards; political news junkie; budding gardener; 2 cats, 1 husband. Former city gal loving shore life.
Who was I? In my past life, I was a trained classical flautist, cancer survivor, lover of big 80s hair, city dweller in Boston then Philly, and had a great career at a music college in Boston for 16 years.
Through all of that, I loved making things, especially cards. My first card of note was one I made for my mother (when I was a wee one) for Mother's Day. She saved it and now I have it. The back says "Whole Made Cards" written in crayon. You see, I obviously knew the importance of handmade way back when...just got the words wrong!
Back to the Present: I adore Victorian imagery and vintage illustrations, always have. I collect them, fix them up where needed, and combine them into digital collages or greeting cards. Sometimes I'll have an image staring at me for years, but just don't come up with a card idea that I love. Other times, I see an image and know instantly what the card will be. Some of my cards are serious, some are funny, some have bad puns...just like me.
My Chief Feline Officer (CFO!) Lulu and I are thrilled that Pet Scribbles has been featured in Pet Business, The Pet Elite, Pet Product News, Pet Style News, Victoriana Magazine, Greetings Etc., and Country Business. Pet Scribbles turned five years old in December 2010.
After enjoying city life for many years – first in Boston, Massachusetts, then in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – my husband and I recently settled down in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. We are "owned by" two cats: a 10-year old Ragdoll girl named Lulu (the CFO mentioned above); and a 16-ish years young formerly feral kitty named Aliza-Loo Doolittle. Aliza enjoys a fulfilling retirement doing very little work (aka Doolittle).

Matisse, aka Mr. Boober... Rest In Peace
November 19, 2009
We had the heartbreak of saying goodbye to our special boy, who bravely battled his feline lymphoma for a lot longer than any doctors could predict. Mr. Boober never complained, and never asked for anything. He loved unconditionally and will always be our special boy, our buddy, our speed bump.
